Traffic Signal Manufacturer in China: Product & Project Selection Guide

Use one specification path to compare LED traffic signal heads, pedestrian and bicycle indications, controllers, countdown timers, solar systems and mounting hardware before you request a quotation.

Start with the road-user application

A traffic light supplier should first understand who must see the indication and how the phase is controlled. A vehicle approach normally needs a red-yellow-green ball or arrow signal. A pedestrian or bicycle crossing needs a dedicated symbol and a clear red/green sequence. Lane-control signals use red crosses and green arrows, while temporary work zones may need portable or solar traffic lights.

Bicycle crossingbicycle traffic light, cycle signalBicycle symbol, red/green sequence and phase coordination

Choose size and indication together

Diameter alone is not a complete product specification. GAOQIAO supplies common 100mm, 200mm, 300mm and 400mm classes; the correct choice also depends on the number of sections, optical face, viewing distance, housing and mounting position. For a 300mm (12 inch) or 400mm (16 inch) project, list every required indication instead of describing the order only as “traffic lights”.

Match the signal head to the controller

Before production, confirm the controller model, AC or DC voltage, switching method, common conductor, cable cores and terminal labels. Countdown timers may use learning, trigger or communication interfaces, so the timing source and transition behavior must be approved with the controller. This is the information a manufacturer needs to review wiring rather than simply quote a housing.

Include mounting, housing and site conditions

Housing material, visor depth, rear access, cable entry and mounting hardware affect installation and maintenance. Tell the supplier whether the signal will be mounted on a vertical pole, signal arm, double-arm pole or a temporary stand. For coastal, dusty, high-temperature or winter sites, include the environmental conditions and the required protection or project standard in the RFQ.

RFQ checklist for a China traffic signal manufacturer

  1. Country, project standard and installation environment.
  2. Signal size in millimetres and number of sections.
  3. Ball, arrow, pedestrian, bicycle, lane-control or countdown indication.
  4. Input voltage, controller model, wiring drawing and cable-core arrangement.
  5. Housing, visor, mounting, colour and required accessories.
  6. Quantity by indication, packing requirement, delivery destination and target date.

This information helps GAOQIAO return a configuration that can be reviewed by purchasing, engineering and the site team. It also prevents a common sourcing error: comparing two quotations that describe the same diameter but different indications or controller interfaces.
