Radar Speed Sign and Curve Warning Planning Guide
Build a safe road-warning specification around the detection method, display, flash pattern, power system and site geometry. Confirm the final radar or speed-display configuration with GAOQIAO before making a product claim or purchase.
Quick selection matrix
| Planning item | Typical use | Confirm before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Detection | Radar range, lane and speed threshold | Coverage, units, trigger and data behavior |
| Display | Speed, curve or hazard message | Readability, brightness, anti-glare and enclosure |
| Warning | Flasher, sequence and synchronization | Lens, spacing, timing and recovery |
| Power | Grid, solar or portable supply | Load, autonomy, charging and maintenance |
Project availability note: Planning note: GAOQIAO's publicly listed references cover speed-board and warning-light categories. Radar detection and any curve-warning project configuration must be confirmed from the current project specification before quotation.
1. Define the road-safety problem
Record the approach speed, curve radius, sight distance, lane count, crash history, school or work-zone activity and the warning decision the driver must make. A speed display, curve flasher, sequential warning light or a combined system may be appropriate for different sites.
The public GAOQIAO catalogue includes speed-board and warning-light references. Radar detection, display size, enclosure and project approval must be confirmed from the actual inquiry and should not be inferred from a generic product photograph.
2. Specify radar detection and display behavior
For a radar speed sign, define detection range, lane coverage, speed units, trigger threshold, display color, brightness control, data logging, anti-glare behavior and the response to a detected vehicle outside the target lane.
If radar is not required, a flashing warning or sequential hazard system may be simpler. State the trigger, flash sequence, synchronization, night mode and safe behavior after a power or communication fault.
3. Select solar, wired or portable power
Estimate the daily load of the detector, display, controller, radio and flasher. Select panel, battery and controller capacity for the least favorable operating period and document autonomy, low-voltage protection and maintenance access.
For portable work-zone installations, also confirm ballast, transport dimensions, cable protection, visibility and the temporary traffic-control plan. The site drawing should show the approach distance and maintenance area.
4. Curve-warning and sequential flasher layout
Use the curve geometry, approach speed and viewing distance to set the sign or flasher spacing. Confirm lens color, face direction, flash rate, sequential order, synchronization and whether a second direction needs a separate face.
Where a sequential warning light is used, record the controller, timing source, cable or wireless link and recovery behavior. Keep the warning system separate from a regulatory traffic signal unless the authority approves the integration.
5. Acceptance and public-project evidence
Acceptance should verify measured speed detection, display readability, flash timing, solar charging, battery autonomy, fault state and visibility in day and night conditions. Photograph the installed position and keep the test record.
GAOQIAO can review a radar or curve-warning request when the project drawing, local standard, required detection and display specification, power method, quantity and destination are provided. Availability is confirmed per project rather than assumed from this planning guide.
