Match voltage before anything else

The voltage printed on the signal module must agree with the controller output and the site power design. Do not assume that a controller described as ā€œ220 Vā€ can directly operate a low-voltage DC signal. A suitable power supply or isolated interface may be required.

Best practice: provide a controller wiring diagram or a clear photo of its output terminal labels before production begins.

Check low-load and leakage-current behavior

LED signal modules consume less power than incandescent lamps. Some electronic controller outputs may allow a small leakage current when switched off. This can cause faint glowing, unstable operation or false fault detection. The controller manufacturer should confirm its minimum load and off-state leakage specification.

Confirm the countdown interface

Countdown displays are not universally interchangeable. Common solutions include signal-learning countdown, independent trigger inputs and communication-based timing. The correct choice depends on the controller sequence, phase transitions and whether the display must blank during special operating modes.

Wiring review checklist

  1. Mark every controller terminal and its rated output voltage.
  2. List each signal indication connected to that terminal.
  3. Confirm the common conductor arrangement.
  4. Check cable core count, conductor size and installation distance.
  5. Confirm grounding, surge protection and cabinet protection.
  6. Approve the final connection drawing before shipment.
