Where Should an OEM Logo Go on a Traffic Signal Head?
An OEM logo should identify the supplier or project brand without obscuring the signal indication, a required rating label or maintenance access. Agree on its position while the product drawing is still being approved.
Separate branding from technical identification
The logo can appear on the housing, carton or documentation, but the unit must still carry the model, input rating and traceability information required by the order and destination market. A branded front face is not a reason to remove technical labels from the rear.
Ask for a dimensioned artwork proof showing the logo's size, color and location. Check it against the actual housing shape. A placement that works on a square 300mm enclosure may be too close to the door hinge on a compact round head.
Check the installed view
Review a physical sample or a realistic photograph from the likely viewing angle. Ensure the brand mark does not resemble a signal symbol or distract from the active indication. Keep branding away from lenses, visors, vents, fasteners and seals. If an enclosure is exposed to sun or cleaning chemicals, ask how the proposed print or label will be evaluated for that environment.
Approve all variants
If an order mixes 100mm, 200mm and 300mm heads, approve the layout for each housing family. Include carton labels and instruction-sheet branding in the same approval set. Translation, importer details and certification marks may differ by market; these should be reviewed against the actual destination requirements, not copied from a previous customer's carton.
Record the artwork revision with the product drawing and sample ID. If the logo changes after sample approval, review the affected surfaces again before production continues.
