Traffic Signal Controller, Remote and Countdown Compatibility Guide
A practical checklist for matching LED signal heads, countdown timers, wired controllers and wireless remote functions before production.
Why the controller interface matters
The signal head, controller and countdown timer are one working system. A quotation that only lists diameter and colour is incomplete: the engineering team also needs the voltage, switching method, common conductor, cable cores, terminal labels and timing source.
Compatibility checklist
| Item | Confirm before ordering | Typical project question |
|---|---|---|
| Signal head | Aspect count, ball/arrow/symbol, voltage and connector | Is the head compatible with the existing cabinet output? |
| Countdown timer | Learning, trigger or communication interface | Where does the countdown timing come from? |
| Remote control | Operating range, buttons, receiver and local override | Is remote operation for testing, temporary control or daily use? |
| Solar wireless controller | Battery, charging, synchronization and enclosure | How many hours of autonomy are required on a cloudy day? |
Information to send with an RFQ
- Controller model or wiring diagram.
- AC/DC input and signal output voltage.
- Number of signal sections and indication type.
- Countdown behaviour and transition requirements.
- Remote-control use case, distance and quantity.
- Site temperature, weather exposure and mounting method.
