Arrow Traffic Signal Orders: Define the Front View

14 October 2026 · GAOQIAO Traffic Technology

“Left arrow” is an incomplete instruction unless everyone uses the same viewing reference. An arrow described from behind a signal can be confused with the view seen by the driver. A labelled front-view drawing gives purchasing, assembly and receiving teams one reference for the intended indication.

Use one viewing convention

Show the face as viewed by the approaching road user and label the sheet “front view”. Add a clear top reference. Place the arrow on the drawing rather than relying only on a word in an email. Where a multi-section head is required, show every section in its installed order.

The project designer should approve the intended movement and display configuration. This order sheet records that decision; it does not select a permitted movement or replace the governing traffic-control specification.

Give every configuration a separate line

Order fieldExample of the information needed
Line identifierA unique order-line code used on the drawing and carton
IndicationArrow direction shown in the approved front view
ColourThe specified colour for this line
Nominal face size200mm or 300mm as required by the project
AssemblyModule only, single-section head or specified multi-section head
VersionConfirmed model and electrical interface
QuantityUnits of this exact configuration

These are fields to complete, not a suggested universal configuration. Keep separate lines when direction, colour, electrical version or assembly differs. A combined total such as “twenty arrows” loses information needed for assembly and receiving checks.

Confirm how the pattern is fixed

Ask whether orientation is defined by the supplied module, its locating features or the head assembly. Use the confirmed model documentation to establish what can be adjusted and what must be ordered in a fixed configuration. Do not assume that a sealed module can be rotated or modified on site.

Pattern appearance also belongs in the approval record. A photograph can help communicate a symbol, but exposure and viewing angle change how it looks. If optical evidence is required, request documentation that applies to the selected model and complete optical assembly rather than treating a photograph as a test result.

Carry the drawing reference into packing

Include the order-line code and drawing revision on the packing schedule. At receiving, compare the front face, colour, model label and quantity with that schedule. Record an orientation discrepancy before installation so that an incorrect item is not adapted without approval.

Send the approved front-view sketch, quantity and country to sky-sale@njgq.net for a GAOQIAO arrow signal enquiry. A single shared drawing is easier to review than several conflicting descriptions in a message thread.
