Red/Green Loading Bay Traffic Lights: RFQ Checklist

14 October 2026 · GAOQIAO Traffic Technology

A red/green traffic light enquiry for a loading bay should explain what the display tells the driver and who controls it. The words “stop/go light” leave several decisions open: a two-section head or separate lamps, an operator switch or system interface, and one approach or several. Define those boundaries before asking for a product recommendation.

Describe the intended operation

Provide a short description of the loading area, vehicle approach and intended stop and release points. State whether the indication is operated manually or connected to another system. Identify the party responsible for the site's traffic-management design and for confirming the meaning of each indication.

If the project includes dock equipment, barriers or door controls, supply the relevant interface requirements. Do not assume that a signal head includes a controller, switch, interlock or safety function. Each supplied component and each function should have its own description in the order.

Turn the enquiry into an equipment schedule

FieldInformation to provide
DisplayRed and green indication, nominal face size and number of sections
ArrangementOne complete head or separate assemblies; front-view layout
InstallationWall, post or other approved mounting detail and available space
Electrical interfaceSupply and control requirements from the system designer
EnvironmentSite conditions and the project enclosure requirement
QuantityNumber of complete assemblies and any separate spare modules

Choose 200mm or 300mm equipment against the accepted project specification. A private-site description does not by itself prove that either size is suitable. Viewing conditions, layout and the site's required approval remain part of the design review.

Check the mounting and supply boundary

Ask for an assembly drawing showing the body, bracket and visor. Check wall clearance, access to the cable entry and any risk of vehicles contacting the installed equipment. The mounting surface and fixing design should be assessed by the responsible installer or engineer.

Make a separate list of included items: head, brackets, hardware, cable or connector, control equipment and documentation. A quoted lamp module is different from a complete installed system. Clarifying the boundary helps purchasing compare like-for-like offers and reduces missing-item disputes at delivery.

Agree the review before ordering

Request the selected model documentation and an indication layout drawing for approval. Keep any assumptions about system operation visible in the submittal. Commissioning should follow the approved site procedure and the instructions for the confirmed model.
