Traffic Signal Visor Replacement: Dimensions to Check
14 October 2026 · GAOQIAO Traffic Technology
A visor described as “for a 300mm traffic light” may still have the wrong attachment points or projection for an existing head. When ordering a replacement, identify the housing and the visor interface together. This gives the supplier a meaningful fit question instead of only a nominal face size.
Identify the head before the accessory
Record the head manufacturer, model, nominal size and number of sections. Photograph the complete assembly and any readable product label. State whether the replacement is for one visor, a set of visors or a head with accessories included.
Ask qualified personnel to collect measurements under the approved maintenance and access procedure. A damaged visor at height should not be approached simply to complete an enquiry photograph. Use existing drawings where available and arrange safe inspection through the responsible maintenance team.
Document the connection and envelope
| Dimension or feature | Why it matters for the review |
|---|---|
| Attachment positions | Establishes the fixing pattern on the housing |
| Opening profile | Shows how the visor meets the front assembly |
| Projection | Describes the space occupied in front of the head |
| Width and height | Identifies the complete accessory envelope |
| Fastening details | Helps establish what hardware and instructions are needed |
| Adjacent clearance | Shows possible interference with nearby equipment |
Include a drawing or annotated photographs that identify where each measurement was taken. Separate a measured value from an approximate value. If the original accessory is missing, say which dimensions come from the housing and which are unknown.
Review changes rather than adapting on site
A visor with a different projection or attachment arrangement needs review against the approved assembly. Do not assume that drilling extra holes or trimming an accessory is acceptable. Such changes may affect the housing or the intended installation and require approval from the responsible party.
Photographs also do not establish optical performance. If the project requires evidence for the head and visor configuration, request applicable documentation for that assembly. Avoid treating a visibly longer visor as proof of better signal performance.
Check the delivered accessory against the record
At receiving, compare the model identification, fixing pattern, envelope and hardware with the approved order. Record missing fittings or dimensional differences before release to maintenance. Keep the installation instructions with the replacement record so that a later order does not rely only on memory.
For a GAOQIAO accessory enquiry, send the head model, photographs, measurements, country and quantity to sky-sale@njgq.net. Ask for a confirmed compatible part and its required mounting details before ordering.
