A directional display, a flashing warning arrangement and a conventional traffic-signal arrow should be described according to the actual project requirement.

Provide the approved site layout and display sketch, including the viewing direction and available mounting space. If the indication must be switched by an existing controller, include its interface documentation. This allows the display and control requirements to be reviewed together instead of assuming compatibility from the arrow shape alone.

Review the arrow from the approach direction

Show the intended arrow on a front-view sketch and mark the direction from which road users will see it. An arrow described from the rear of the equipment can be misunderstood during an enquiry. Use the same view when discussing the support position and the control command.

If more than one arrow or indication is required, list the permitted display states and whether any combination must be excluded. These are requirements for the project review, not functions to assume from a category name. Request the proposed artwork and connection description together before deciding whether an existing signal configuration or a custom enquiry is appropriate.
