Defining a solar warning-light package
Specify how the warning should operate
Use the solar warning-light reference to explain the type of equipment being considered, then describe the actual warning task. Identify the required colour, operating pattern, schedule and any external trigger. State whether individual units work independently or need coordinated operation.
The mounting location, support arrangement and associated signs are also part of the application. Include a site sketch where available. A warning beacon and a complete temporary traffic-signal system serve different functions, so the project brief should identify which equipment is required.
Review the power arrangement
Ask for the proposed panel, battery and charging configuration and the assumptions behind any operating-time estimate. Provide the installation location and expected duty schedule. Describe shading or placement constraints that the system designer needs to consider.
Confirm access for battery service, the specified replacement parts and the supplied mounting fittings. A photograph of a solar assembly does not establish the operating time available at every location or in every weather condition; those questions need to be reviewed for the actual package.
Prepare the order and handover details
Include quantity, delivery destination and the project’s required documents. Ask which instructions and configuration information will accompany the equipment. Retain the accepted parts list and installation reference so that future service requests can identify the light, power components and mounting arrangement correctly.
