Reviewing a 300mm traffic-signal configuration

Go beyond the nominal lens size

A 300mm signal reference helps identify a product size family, but the purchasing description also needs the required colours, symbols and section arrangement. State whether the project needs a circular vehicle indication, an arrow, a pedestrian display or a coordinated combination. The installation design should establish the required function and placement.

Ask for the full assembly drawing. Overall width, height, depth, brackets and service access can differ between heads with the same nominal lens size. For a replacement, share the existing model information and mounting measurements so that compatibility can be reviewed before the order is placed.

Match the head to the rest of the system

Provide the available supply and the controller or interface that will operate the head. Confirm any countdown, dimming or other additional function as part of the specific configuration. A gallery image cannot establish the electrical connections or the supported operating mode.

Include the project’s optical and environmental requirements in the enquiry. Request the relevant documents for the offered model instead of assuming that a larger display automatically satisfies every visibility or installation requirement.

Agree what will be delivered

Separate complete heads from spare modules and mounting accessories in the equipment list. Identify the required quantity for each arrangement and specify packing or marking needs. Keep the final drawing and supplied-parts list with the order so the receiving and installation teams can verify the same configuration.
