300mm LED Arrow Traffic Lights: A Buying Checklist

4 November 2026 · GAOQIAO Traffic Signals

A request for a “300 mm arrow traffic light” gives the supplier the nominal face size and the type of indication. The supplier still needs to know which movements each arrow controls, which indications share a face, and how the head connects to the controller. Record those details on the same drawing before comparing quotes.

Start with the driver's view

Mark the top of the head and show the front as seen by an approaching driver. Draw each arrow in its intended direction and label its color and position. If a face is intended to show both straight-ahead and left-turn arrows, draw both symbols and state whether they are to appear together. If the two movements need to run at different times, provide the phase schedule so the supplier can review whether separate indications and control circuits are needed.

Specify the whole assembly

Use 300 mm (nominal 12 inch) as the face-size reference. On the assembly drawing, also identify the number and order of sections, vertical or horizontal mounting, overall envelope, visor clearance, bracket locations and cable entry. State whether you need complete signal heads or modules for an existing housing. A module with the right face size can still have a different retaining or sealing interface.

Confirm the electrical version

Send the controller model and the approved output schedule. List the required supply voltage, AC or DC, and the terminal or connector assignment for each indication. Ask the supplier to show the wiring for the exact configuration quoted. If two movements must be controlled independently, ask for a terminal-by-terminal mapping against your schedule. Where a countdown display is included, specify its timing method separately.

Approve one configuration sheet before ordering

For each order line, record the junction approach or location, quantity, model reference, drawing revision, front-view symbol and supply version. Ask the supplier to return the marked drawing and the wiring diagram with the quotation. At receiving, compare the carton and product labels with that same order line. If two heads look similar, use the approved drawing and wiring reference to tell them apart.
