Planning delivery around a confirmed configuration
Define the starting point for the schedule
A useful delivery discussion begins with the agreed product and order scope. Identify the required model, quantity, customization, documents and packing arrangement. A standard product enquiry and a project requiring new drawings or samples can involve different preparation steps.
Ask which approvals or information are needed before the schedule can be confirmed. Examples include a final signal arrangement, electrical configuration, label artwork or sample acceptance. Record these items so the purchasing team understands what must be completed before production or dispatch can proceed.
Separate dispatch from arrival
The date equipment is ready to leave the supplier and the date it reaches the destination are different milestones. Confirm the delivery location and the commercial and transport arrangement used in the quotation. Clarify which party is responsible for each stage and what documents are needed.
For a multi-item project, ask whether all configurations will be packed and shipped together. If staged delivery is being considered, identify the equipment needed for each installation phase and how the packing list should distinguish those batches.
Keep a usable receiving record
Agree the model identifiers, quantities, package markings and document set before dispatch. Share the accepted list with the receiving team so it can check the delivery against the order. This gallery’s delivery-support theme is an introduction to that discussion, not a guaranteed lead time for every product or destination.
