Agreeing the packing requirements for a signal order

Identify what needs protection and separation

Packing should be planned around the actual assembly and transport arrangement. Identify complete signal heads, controllers, supports and loose accessories as separate items where appropriate. Provide any project requirements for individual identification, mixed configurations or installation batches.

Ask how lenses, projecting brackets, visors and connectors are accommodated in the proposed packing arrangement. Confirm whether accessories are fitted or packed separately and how they will be identified. The packing list should make it possible to locate the parts needed for each signal assembly.

Review the package information

Request the applicable package dimensions, weights and marking details for the agreed order. Confirm the delivery destination and any handling or storage requirements that need to be considered. Packaging shown in a gallery is a reference, not confirmation that the same arrangement suits every product and transport route.

If photographs or an inspection record are required before dispatch, agree their scope in advance. They should identify the actual order or batch and complement the packing list rather than replacing the equipment and configuration records.

Support receiving and installation

Share the final packing list and model references with the receiving team. Check the delivered quantities and identifiers against the order, and record any damage or discrepancy through the agreed process. Keep loose fittings and documentation associated with the correct assembly so that parts are not confused when several configurations arrive together.
