Using a showcase discussion to check system compatibility
Explain the equipment around the proposed product
When following up on an exhibition reference, describe the system in which the product will operate. A signal head, controller, countdown display and power supply must be considered through their actual interfaces. A demonstration or photograph alone does not establish compatibility with equipment already installed at a project site.
Provide a simple equipment diagram and identify the components that will remain in use. Add model labels and relevant terminal information where available. State which parts are being purchased and which will be supplied by the installer or another party.
Make the interface questions explicit
Ask about the supply, wiring arrangement and any required communication or trigger interface for the selected configuration. If a particular operating mode is needed, describe it in the enquiry and request the documentation that explains it. Broad labels such as “wireless” or “smart” do not define these details.
For mechanical integration, request the full dimensions and mounting drawing. Review access for connectors and future service as well as the visible front dimensions. Confirm which accessories and fittings are included in the offer.
Record the agreed combination
Keep the final component list, drawings and relevant instructions together. Identify who is responsible for installation and commissioning against the project plan. This gives an exhibition follow-up a concrete technical scope and helps prevent a visually similar but incompatible item from being selected for the order.
